Yeah, Barbara is the monster of the family from what I’ve heard, and wouldn’t be hard to attack. But I don’t think it would play well among the undecided, who probably think of her in conjunction with that book her dog wrote or whatever it was that made her seem like a nice grandma instead of the dragon lady she really is. (Did you ever hear Al Franken tell the story about his encounter with her on an airplane?) By all accounts, Dubya takes after his mother.

I know attacking Barbara would not work politically, but I just keep imagining the classic Bill Cosby "Shop" sketch, where the shop teacher talks trash about the mother of whoever put the cherry bomb in the furnace until one student cries out, "I didn’t do it, and quit talking about my mom like that." That’s how George would react and he would be put REALLY off balance.

He’s got to mention poppy. That always gets under his skin. Also, I think that he should attack Barbara (mom, not daughter). That would throw George WAY off balance.
